We have recently added a new Cava to our range of sparkling wines and we think it's miles better than the rest.
We've sourced this Cava from producer Castell d'Age. The family behind Castell d'Age is tied to 3 generations of female winemakers. The current winemaker, Olivia Junyet, respects the family ethos of doing things the traditional way as well as putting her own stamp on the vineyards with her belief in using organic viticultural practices.
The vineyards are located in the Alt Penedes outside the small village of La Beguda Baixa. In the vineyard, they use bovine compost and biodynamic preparations. The estate is currently certified organic and in the process of obtaining biodynamic certification.
We are currently stocking the Anne Marie Brut Nature Reserva Cava. Brut Nature means that the wine has very little or no added sugar, it's just pure Cava. The result is a fresh and clean cava with none of the sweet, sticky after taste that you can sometimes find in Cava. We think this is a great alternative to Champagne, for times when you just fancy a bit of bubbles but don't feel like splashing out. £
