Arianna Occipinti produced her first wine at the age of 24, a Nero d'Avola with just one hectare of vines. Arianna studied Enology in Milan before embarking on her winemaking career. She has always farmed organically and makes her wine naturally with minimal intervention and indigenous yeasts. As well as farming organically, she also farms biodynamically. She was inspired by her uncle, Giusto Occhipinti of COS vineyards, and his method of making wines as naturally as possible. She fell in love with the vines at a young age and began making wine in her early 20's near her home of Vittoria, Sicily.
We are very pleased to have her Occhipinti SP 68 Bianco in the shop. The wine is named after the main road that passes by her vineyards in the south of Sicily. This is a skin fermented wine that is left 7 days on the skins. A blend of albanello and zibbibo it is a full bodied white with a very expressive nose, you just want to dive into this wine once you smell it. On the palate it is elegant and fine with a slight nuttiness to the finish along with ripe white fruits. It is beautifully balanced with a long finish. A real pleasure to drink.
It is now available in the wine shop and by the glass in the wine bar. Pop in for a taste and stay for a glass!
